ADULT DOG TRAINING & BEHAVIOUR · BRISTOL

It’s never too late to make things better.

Whether you’re dealing with habits that have crept in over time, a behaviour that’s suddenly got worse, or simply wanting a calmer, more connected life with your dog — expert support makes all the difference.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Life with your dog shouldn’t feel like a constant negotiation.

You have tried books, videos, maybe a few trainers.

Yet your dog still is not quite where you hoped.

It is stressful, exhausting, and far from what you imagined — and conflicting advice has left you overwhelmed and unsure who to trust.

Your dog may be…

Ignoring recall or showing selective hearing, especially around distractions.

Pulling, lunging on the lead, or becoming overstimulated on walks.

Barking or lunging at other dogs or people.

Struggling to settle at home or finding it hard to be left alone.

Reactive to noises, traffic, or unfamiliar environments.

Difficult to manage around visitors at home.

And you may be feeling…

Frustrated after trying books, videos, or other trainers without lasting results

Embarrassed or anxious about walks or outings with your dog.

Overwhelmed by conflicting advice and unsure who to trust.

Worried about your dog’s wellbeing and uncertain how best to help.

Exhausted from managing your dog’s behaviour every single day.

Like you have tried everything and nothing seems to stick.

You are not alone. And it does not have to stay this way.

WHAT WE COVER

Tailored to your dog. Grounded in real life.

Every session is built around the challenges that are actually affecting your daily life — not a generic curriculum. Here’s what we commonly work on with adult dogs.

Reactivity

Barking, lunging, growling, or avoidance linked to fear, frustration, or overstimulation — we address the root cause, not just the surface behaviour.

Loose Lead Walking

Pulling, lunging, freezing, or becoming overstimulated on walks — whether in Bristol’s parks, residential streets, or busier areas.

Recall & Listening

For dogs who ignore cues, struggle to come back when called, or become easily distracted — especially dogs with high prey drive or strong environmental pull.

Separation Anxiety & Settling

Restlessness, distress, or destructive behaviour when left alone — building confidence and calm through a gradual, compassionate approach.

Behaviour Around Visitors

Barking, rushing the door, jumping up, or struggling to settle when people arrive — creating calmer, more reliable behaviour at home.

Confidence & Calm

Sensitivity to noises, new environments, or social situations — helping your dog feel safer and more settled in the world around them.

Here is How We Can Work Together.

Three ways to work together — choose the level of support that feels right for where you are right now.

Not sure which is right for your dog? That is exactly what the first conversation is for — just get in touch and I will help you figure it out.

In my experience, most clients find that Confidence gives them everything they need. But if you are not quite ready to commit, Clarity is a great place to start. And if you want the fastest possible progress — Complete is for you.

For owners who want clarity before committing

Clarity

Something is not quite right. You can feel it. But you are not sure how much support you actually need.

A thorough first session at your home (2 hours), a written report, weekly email check-ins for 4 weeks, and a Zoom review at week 4 to decide on next steps together.

No WhatsApp support. No pressure to continue. Consultation fee credited toward a programme if you decide to go further.

Enough time between sessions to practise, embed what you have learned, and come back with questions, videos, and wins to share.

Most clients tell me the biggest change is not just in their dog. It is in how confident they feel.

MAINTENANCE SUPPORT

Recommended after your programme

Progress does not have to stop when your programme ends. Most clients find that continued support — even just once or twice a month — makes the difference between lasting change and slipping back into old patterns.

After your programme we will discuss what ongoing support looks like for you and your dog — tailored to where you are and what you need next.

Let’s talk about what you and your dog need.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's your approach to dog training and behaviour?

I use kind, ethical methods that focus on understanding each dog and their emotional needs. My goal is to help you feel listened to, supported, understood, and confident.

I don’t use shouting, guilt, or dominance-based techniques. Dog behaviour isn’t a moral failing, and struggling doesn’t mean you haven’t tried hard enough. Many owners have done all the right things and are still challenged, often because of the dog, the context, or the situation.

Who do you work with?

I work with people who care deeply about their dogs and want meaningful behaviour change without the “bootcamp energy.” If this resonates, I’m happy to have a no-pressure chat about you and your dog.

Can you guarantee results?

No, and no professional behaviourist can or should guarantee specific results.

Dogs are living beings with their own personality, experiences, and emotional needs. While I can’t guarantee a specific outcome, I can promise to provide expert guidance, personalised strategies, and ongoing support to help you achieve meaningful, lasting behaviour change.

Can you offer a quick fix?

No. My approach is based on understanding each dog and their emotional needs, and implementing strategies that are designed to work in the long term. This ensures lasting behaviour change rather than short-term fixes.

But can you at least improve it?

Yes, most dogs can improve with the right approach.

You may have already tried different methods, trainers, books, online advice, and understand there’s no quick fix. Together, we’ll focus on building a stronger bond with your dog, managing challenging behaviours in the short term, and creating a practical plan to continue training and making lasting progress at home.

Why do I need a veterinary referral?

Working with your vet helps ensure we identify any underlying health issues that could be affecting your dog’s behaviour. This collaborative approach gives the clearest picture of your dog’s needs and ensures that any training or behaviour plan is safe and effective. It is also a requirement of the professional organisations I’m a member of.

Should I wait a bit longer and see if things get better on their own?

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably been dealing with this behaviour for a while. Unwanted behaviours rarely improve without intervention. In fact, the more a dog practises an undesirable behaviour, the more likely it is to become a habit. Many challenging behaviours tend to intensify over time rather than disappear. Seeking help sooner rather than later is the best way to support your dog and prevent behaviours from becoming more ingrained.

This sounds like a lot of work!

I know it can feel overwhelming at first, but you don’t have to do it alone. My programmes are designed to break behaviour change into manageable steps, with support and guidance along the way. Together, we’ll create a realistic plan that fits your life and helps your dog make steady, lasting progress without adding unnecessary stress.

What can you expect from me?

If you choose to work with me, you can expect a structured, easy-to-follow plan that is updated after each session with clear next steps, along with strategies to prevent and manage unwanted behaviours.

I will provide training techniques that help your dog think differently and change their emotional responses, and offer support and guidance throughout your journey. By the end of the programme, you can feel confident that your dog has the best foundation possible and that you have done all you can to help them.

What I need from you

To make the most of our work together, I need you to be open-minded and committed to communicating with me about the challenges you encounter along the way. This allows me to help you overcome them effectively. We work as a team, and your honesty and collaboration are key to helping your dog make lasting progress.

Okay, I like this. How do I get started?

Getting started is simple:

  1. Book a call – we’ll have a quick chat to understand your dog’s needs and your goals and decide which programme is right for you.
  2. Complete the forms – provide background on your dog’s behaviour, health, and lifestyle.
  3. Personalised plan – based on the call and forms, I’ll create a tailored programme with strategies, support, and next steps to help your dog make lasting progress.
