What is scent detection?
Scent detection training involves teaching your dog to identify and search for a specific odour.
Have you seen police dogs sniffing an area to find substances such as explosives and drugs and then suddenly freezing on the spot to let their human know they found something important?!
Well, this is what you can teach your dog too, only without using any illegal substances!
What are the benefits of scent detection?
Scent detection is not only fun, but it’s also a great way to keep your dog mentally stimulated, helping them become calmer, happier, and more relaxed.
It’s also an excellent physical workout, as it encourages dogs to move with awareness.
This can be especially great if you have a young dog who loves to go self-employed or a senior dog on restricted physical exercise.

Before setting up my own business, I worked at Dogs Trust Dog School Bristol, leading hundreds of classes and training hundreds of puppies and dogs. This means I have a lot of experience working with puppies and dogs of all different ages and breeds.

Qualified
I'm a qualified Animal Training Instructor with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council, a full member of PACT, a full Trainer Member of INTODogs, and a Certified Animal Trainer with ICAN. I'm also a qualified UK Sniffer Dogs Scent Detection Instructor at GOLD level.
